Hello, I’m David

I’m a Seattle-based visual designer and illustrator who creates product icons and icon systems that are clear, consistent, and carefully crafted. I’m passionate about the craft of iconography, and I love the challenge of making a small symbol say exactly the right thing.

Systems. I audit, define, and maintain icon libraries at scale, including a set of more than 4,500 icons. I write the guidelines that keep a large set coherent.

Craft. I design for pixel precision and optimize each icon across sizes, from first sketch to production-ready assets. Every detail matters to me, and I never tire of refining a form until it feels right.

Collaboration. I work closely with product teams, engineers, and stakeholders to make products feel clear and friendly.

In a world where AI can generate an image in seconds, I believe judgment, taste, and empathy still make the difference in a symbol this small.

Outside of work, I ride with a local race team, spend quality time with my family, and cook a mean chili.
